Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has explained releasing five players as they return to the Championship.
Chris Basham, George Baldock, Oliver Norwood, Wes Foderingham and Max Lowe are all leaving the club.
Wilder said: "Difficult decisions to make but ones we have to make and I have to make as manager.
"Was really important that us as a football club got it right, how we did it and timing and everyone getting opportunity to show appreciation for the five players.
"Incredible memories with them, working with them, leading with them and what they have contributed to the club.
"Outstanding servants, but the club has to move on. We will all reflect in an important way they positive contribution to the club."
