UNCOVERED: Why Amorim Liverpool move fell through

Sporting CP priced Ruben Amorim out of a move to Liverpool, it has been revealed.

Departing Feyenoord coach Arne Slot has been named new manager of Liverpool.

But BILD says Liverpool previously reached an agreement with Amorim.

Liverpool is said to have also agreed with Sporting to buy the coach out of his contract for 10m.

In the final phase of the negotiations, however, Sporting chose to change their mind - and doubled the price tag for Amorim to 20m.

Hence, Liverpool chose to back out of the negotiations, and the recruitment collapsed.
